Some of the most beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean can be enjoyed by driving up the Highway 101. Over the last two decades, I have been very lucky to explore some of these beautiful hidden treasures within the state of California. If you are looking for a serene drive up the coastline of California, try starting your trip in San Diego and continue to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. You could complete this drive in a week, but making this trip in two weeks, would allow for some marvelous sightseeing along the way! One great travel idea includes spending a weekend at one of the oceanfront resorts in Cambria or San Simeon. These locations allow travelers to stay close to the famously stunning Hearst Castle, nestled in the mountains just off the coast of the Pacific Ocean. A day of exploring the estate of William Randolph Hearst, the founder of the great Hearst Publishing Company, will allow travelers to escape to an enchanted getaway that seems as though it was blessed by the gods themselves. Stay tuned for more exciting travel tips within the great state of California!
