I lift up my eyes to the mountains
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV)
She Trip USA and Beyond Subscribers,
Hello from the Scottish Highlands! One of my favorite national parks worldwide is the largest national park in the United Kingdom, the Cairngorms Mountains National Park, located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. The Cairngorms Mountains National Park is comprised of 1,748 square miles (4528 square kilometers) of beauty overlooking the rugged terrain of exquisite wilderness and wetlands, lovely lochs (this means "lakes" in Gaelic), majestic rivers, nine National Nature Reserves, and four of the highest mountains in the United Kingdom. This is an awe-inspiring area to visit, and if you are a lover of the outdoors, enjoy walking, hiking, biking, fishing, touring castles, photography, or love taking cross-country road trips, you will enjoy visiting this part of Scotland. The Highland Tourist Route is another Cairngorms Mountains National Park feature that will take your breath away. The Highland Tourist Route is 116 miles (187km) long and is a great way to see Scotland's unique and natural landscape. It is also an excellent option if you travel north to Inverness.
Travel Tip: When considering a cross-country road trip through Scotland, your comfort and safety should be a priority. That's why renting a 4x4 SUV with a narrow body is highly advisable. This type of vehicle is comfortable for cross-country travel and practical for the narrow roads of the Cairngorms Mountains National Park. Its 4x4 capabilities can help reduce the risk of a flat tire if you encounter a pothole in this captivating wilderness, giving you peace of mind to fully enjoy your journey.
Stay tuned for my next post, where I'll share more travel tips and unveil exciting road trip options for exploring the Cairngorms Mountains National Park. There's so much more to discover, and I can't wait to share it with you! In the meantime, enjoy the lovely views of Kinloch Laggan and River Pattack near the western boundary of the Cairngorms Mountains National Park.
