This beautiful historic library called the Long Room in the Old Library of Trinity College Dublin, is located in Dublin, Ireland and is a must see for travelers who love exploring historical European universities and colleges. In addition to its stunning architecture, this library houses over 200,00 books guarded by majestic marble busts of legendary scholars such as Plato, Socrates, and Shakespeare. This library also holds the oldest known Irish harp, also known as Brian Boru's Harp, a medieval harp that dates back to the 14th or 15th century. Another must see attraction housed in the Trinity College Library, is the beautiful Book of Kells containing stunning illustrations of the four gospels of the Bible, painted by Medieval monks on the Isle of Iona, as early as the 6th century. There is no photography of the actual Book of Kells allowed, however, this blog contains photos of the introduction to the exibit. I hope you enjoy and as always, safe travels! Nadine Traveler
